DALE CITY JULY 4TH PARADE

Our members had an exciting and fun time participating in the Dale City 4th of July Parade. As we rode in our decorated truck with banners and patriotic décor, we passed out flyers and talked about our plans for the park. We were joined by several families and friends who rode with our car via bikes and skateboards. The support was amazing.

The parade was dedicated to the life and memory of James Hicks.  James was many things to many people. To the community he loved and served, he was President of the Dale City Civic Association, long-time Staging Director for the parade and 40+ year member the U.S. Army Fife and Drum Corps. To the members of this Foundation, James was a dear friend, dedicated supporter and member of our Board of Directors.  We will miss him forever. His wife Lisa continues to support our Foundation and serve in the Community. To see the pictures from the Parade go to this link

FURTHER HAPPENINGS

CBTMF has held several zoom meetings to discuss future events we hope to hold, as well as ideas for fundraising. Fundraising is the main focus of the Foundation at this point. We are planning some events to raise the needed capital to start breaking ground. We are hoping to begin cleaning up the lot of trash and debris as well as clearing out some overgrowth as these are things we can begin to do at this time. We hope some of you reading will join us by either volunteering for specific events but we hope more of you will join us in a more permanent capacity. We have some openings on our Board and are looking for folks who would want to assist us in this endeavor. Should you want to learn more about how you can help please contact us via email to be directed to the appropriate Foundation member to assist you.
