Last year, fall activities started with the Occoquan Riverfest and Craft Show where our booth was set up in Imagination Alley along the river. There is always a variety of non-profit organizations, each with a very distinct purpose and message. We always enjoy the show and talking to people about our plans to build a bike and skate park in Lake Ridge. There is a lot of interest in what we are trying to accomplish.
Next to us was FOTO, or Friends of the Occoquan who helps educate the public on environmental issues like river clean-up and planting gardens. Some groups had hands-on activities for kids. There were book-readings from three of the non-profits who write childrens books. Music was always playing in the background and there was a lot of traffic and excitement.
The special entertainment was fantastic. The Woodbridge Dance Club and Dance Etc. captivated the crowd with their superb talent.
CBTMF looks forward to the Occoquan Riverfest and Craft Show next spring. We would love to have you stop by our booth and say hello.
